WEB PUBLISHING

Four HTML projects

Here is a collection of four major web projects I have made for my Web Publishing classes. I have presented them here based on the quality of the work, going from the one I know to be the best, and going back from there.

My magnum opus, this work here represents all that I have come to learn in Web Publishing class. Absinthe is a passion of mine, so it was only natural that my final project is dedicated to educating those on the history, culture and misinformation on absinthe.
CSS/HTML techniques used:
New two-column technique, where I float the main box and the sidebar after sizing them accordingly and ensuring the width, padding and overall space all add up to 100%.
Singling out a container and the division of the container into a top, main content, sidebar and a bottom. Also dividing colors between the body, container and the parts of the container.
Floating pictures and hiding text overflow.
Padding of lists so they do not go outside of their boxes.
Working links to other pages on the site and a few external links as well.
Responsive pictures, text and buttons.
Google fonts and Google maps have been embedded.
Two photo galleries, each with clickable pictures.
Embedded video, also responsive to size changes.

This cocktail website serves as an updated version of the one I did back in Web Publishing 1, with several updates and a whole new technique used to lay out the page. Flexbox and grid layout were used to construct this page, providing a cleaner, crisper two-column layout as opposed to the older version.

My passion, my child, my beloved radio show at U of M, that is EAT YOUR MAKEUP. This website takes users through an abridged history of the show through the most influential courses on the show. This is a demonstration of everything I have learned in my Web Publishing classes, and I don't hesitate to call it my magnum opus.

This is certainly the weakest of my projects and definitely one I will need to workshop a bit more, but it is still a great demonstration of responsive layout and external CSS.
